Jazz in Las Vegas
The Jazz in Las Vegas 3-Part Series is a series of video interviews conducted by Dave Loeb, Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and Nathan Tanouye, Jazz Studies, UNLV. Interviewees include Ken Hanlon, Las Vegas Jazz Musician & Historian; Vincent Falcone, Musician & Music Director; and Las Vegas Jazz musicians Woody Woods, Tom Hall and Gus Mancuso. Created as a supplement for Jazz history curriculums, this free series was made possible by a generous grant from the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial.
This excerpt (at left) was taken from a series of talks that were recorded at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas (UNLV) for Forgotten Song Foundation, Inc., a 501C3 organization. The course, accessed below, can be offered as extra credit for classes at any school or university across the county with a curriculum that offers a jazz study program.
